Johanna Moseley
01 · Hunter Jumper & Equitation

Johanna Moseley

Owner / Trainer, Bayleaf Equestrian

Born and raised in Lake Charles, Jo started riding at a summer camp at Le Bocage when she was 10. Camp participants received a free lesson at the end of the week, and the rest is history. Jo has bounced between hunters, equitation, and jumpers, but found the most heart in the jumper ring. She graduated from McNeese State University in 2022 with a degree in accounting and is now Head Coach of the McNeese Equestrian (IHSA) team she founded alongside her best friend in 2018.

One of Johanna's biggest passions is stable management. In 2014 she signed up for USHJA's Emerging Athletes Program, which she participated in seven times, qualifying for Nationals twice. Nominated as a stable manager both times, she ranked #1 in the nation after regionals in 2016 and won the Sportsmanship award while there. She was later asked to join the Horsemanship Quiz Challenge committee, on which she still serves.

Now raising children of her own, Johanna shares her passion and knowledge by teaching hunter jumper and equitation lessons here at Le Bocage. Jo also offers pony parties and summer camps, inspiring the next generation to follow in her footsteps.

Kate Maddox
02 · Dressage, Eventing & Jumpers

She spent two years in Tunisia studying euroseat and was a member of the National Equestrian Team of Tunisia, competing in the high juniors and Grand Prix jumpers. She represented Radford University as an Open Rider in the IHSA.

With 30 years of experience teaching riders of every age, Kate believes that every owner and their horse is a unique team that can excel at its own pace. She is open to teaching all disciplines and breeds, and loves building a dressage foundation for use in all equine sports.
